Space Research Center (SPARC) is a preeminent after-school STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education program at Philadelphia's  Northeast High School in the Burholme section of the city.  Project SPARC began in the early 1960s  to promote the development of leaders dedicated to the extension of mankind’s grasp beyond that of planet Earth.  By educating students with interest in medicine, the computer sciences, electronics, engineering, flight management, and robotics, Project SPARC provides practical hands-on experience for students in their individual fields of interest.

Today, Project Sparc serves our diverse student population by providing them with 6 divisions of scientific study. They are Astronomy, Coding, Engineering,  Flight, Medical, and Robotics. Students managers decide their respective divisions focus for the year and guide their student members  towards scientific investigation, competition, and exploration.

Additionally, the divisions work in concert to conduct yearly flight simulations, holding true to our roots having been founded by a partnership between the School District of Philadelphia and NASA.  We invite Parents, Alumni, and community members to view these flight simulations.  Please check our about us page for upcoming dates.
